This one hurts. Texas A & M’s Josh Carter hit a three pointer as time expired to beat Nebraska 57-55. The Huskers had a 13 point lead at the half, after breaking an 18-18 tie, but sputtered in the second half.
At one point, the Huskers went 11 minutes without scoring a bucket and despite only score seven points in the final 14 minutes, the Huskers still had a chance to win leading up until the end.
This has become more and more common. The Huskers seem to be fading late in games. I saw it first hand when they played Mizzou and now last night, they shot just 25% in the second half after a good start.
Someone asked Doc Sadler on his weekly Big 12 call this week if he was concerned about his team wearing out late in games this season with the style of defense NU plays and he downplayed somewhat, but the affects may be starting to show.
Ade Dagundaro’s 16 points led the Huskers, but was the only NU player in double figures. NU drop to 6-7 in the Big 12 in 8th place.
