Dave Oman leaving Grand Island boys basketball team

Dave Oman has resigned as head coach of the Grand Island boys basketball team. Oman, leaves with an overall career record of 483-369.  He was 138-108 at Grand Island.  246-197 in 22 years at Norfolk, including a Class A state championship in 1987.  Oman led the Islanders to Class A state championships in 1999 and 2002.

The Islanders went 6-16 this year with a young team.  Oman told The Independent, he’s not sure if he will coach somewhere else at this time.
