The Bulldogs defeated Taylor University (Ind.) 68-51 Wednesday and will advance to the second round of the 2009 NAIA Women’s National Basketball Tournament currently being held in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Bulldogs played sluggishly in the first half and were down by five, 29-24, at the break. During the second half, however, the Bulldogs steamed ahead and stayed there. Three players for Concordia led the team in scoring: Whitney Stichka, Melissa Tinkham and TaLisa Krejci, each with 13 points.
Concordia next plays Cornerstone University (Mich.) on Friday, March 13 at 8:30 a.m. Cornerstone defeated Cardinal Stritch 72-53 in Wednesday’s breakfast match.
