Aging advocates in Nebraska are not happy with the proposed 1% increase in funding for aging services in the state.
“That amount will not keep pace with inflation leading to cuts in services and forcing more people to move to nursing homes financed by medicaid.”
Sonny Andrews of A-A-R-P Nebraska says older Nebraskans deserve a five percent funding increase which would add about one million dollars to the budget. The goal is to keep seniors in their homes and not have them go to a nursing home to be paid for by medicaid.
