The Lincoln Saltdogs split a doubleheader against St. Paul Tuesday night at Haymarket Park, winning the second game 2-0 after losing the opener 4-3. Lincoln now stands at 8-10 on the season.
Saltdogs starter Jonathan Figueroa (1-3) was the hero in game two, pitching six scoreless innings and allowing just three hits. Figueroa struck out a season-high seven batters to earn his first victory of the season.
Lincoln blew a 3-0 lead in the first game, as the Saints scored three runs in the fifth to tie the game, then went ahead on Ole Sheldon’s lead off homer in the the sixth inning off Saltdogs reliever Daryl Arreola (0-2).
