19 year old Nebraska wide receiver Niles Paul pleaded not guilty to charges of reckless driving, minor consumption, and operating a vehicle without a license during his court appearance Wednesday in Lancaster County. His trial is set for July 6th.
NU coach Bo Pelini suspended Paul the last three spring practices plus the Red-White scrimmage back in mid-April. A verdict will be reached well before the season begins which will determine if Paul will still be in the running for one of the starting spots at receiver.
Last year as a sophomore, Paul caught 23 passes returned a kickoff for a touchdown against San Jose State on Sept. 6.
