The Lincoln Saltdogs got swept for a second straight series losing 6-0 to the Sioux City Explorers at Haymarket Park.
Sioux City starter Steve Spurgeon (4-1) pitched a complete game shutout. He allowed just five hits and a walk while striking out six. Lincoln never had more than one runner on base in any inning, and only twice did a Saltdogs runner reach as far as second base. Spurgeon is now 2-0 at Haymarket Park this season, and has not allowed a run in 16.2 innings pitched here.
Lincoln has an off-day on Thursday, before hosting Sioux Falls on Friday in game one of a three-game series. Righty Brian Campbell is scheduled to make the start for the Saltdogs.
