NU’s Nicholos Gordon finished third in the long jump with a personal best 26 feet, 2 ¾ inches. Gordon won the indoor long jump this year and is just the 4th Husker to earn All-American honors for indoor and outdoor in the same year.
Freshman Bjorn Barrefors also earned All-American honors in the men’s decathlon with a six-place finish. Kirkland Thornton tried to become the first Husker in school history to earn All-America honors in both the 110 and 400meter hurdles. Friday, Thornton will run the 110 hurdle semifinals at 7:05 p.m., then the 400 hurdle finals at 8:05 p.m.
Junior Tyrell Ross was just four-thousandths of a second off from reaching the 110 hurdle semifinals, running a time of 14.159 to finish 19th, In the 400 meter hurdles, sophomore Adam Dailey missed on the finals for the second year in a row.
On the women’s side, Lara Crofford finished in 13th place in the women’s 10,000 meter run.
