The Omaha Royals finally came up on the right side of a one-run game decided during their final at-bat, topping New Orleans 4-3 in the finale a three game series. Omaha is now 7-16 in one-run games and 3-15 in games decided in the final at-bat.
Scott Thorman started off the scoring for Omaha with a three-run first-inning homer that gave the Royals an early lead. The Zephyrs would come back to tie the score at three heading into the ninth inning. In the top half, Kila Ka’aihue scored the winning run on Cory Aldridge’s sacrifice fly.
Chris Hayes picked up the win for Omahas.
Omaha travels to Albuquerque to start a four game set tonight. The O-Royals send out lefty Heath Phillips against Stephen Randolph for the Isotopes.
