Saltdogs starter Jonathan Figueroa allowed just one hit over his six innings of work while striking out nine. Figueroa walked five batters, but pitched out of jams and allowed just one unearned run as the Saltdogs return home with a 6-3 win over El Paso.
Lincoln scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Phil Hawke hit a one out double, and went to third on Steve Alexander’s single. Shawn McGill tied the game at one with an RBI single that scored Hawke, and Alexander scored when a ground ball scooted through the legs of El Paso third baseman Mike Provencher. One out later, new Saltdogs third baseman Brandon Jones hit an RBI single to score McGill, and a second run scored when the throw to the plate ended up in the Saltdogs dugout.
Lincoln added insurance runs in both the seventh and eighth, which helped when El Paso scored a pair of runs in the top of the eighth.
