Former Lincoln Southeast grad and Husker star Alex Gordon will continue his minor league rehab assignment in Omaha this Friday when the O-Royals play New Orleans. Gordon will DH and get four to five at bats the most. Tickets are selling fast for the game.
The O-Royal ticket office is opening early today at 9:30 and there are less than 6,000 seats available which is also a fireworks night.
Gordon started his rehabilitation assignment Friday with Kansas City’s rookie league team in Arizona. He played third base for the first time on Monday, and went 2 for 7 with one home run. After Friday’s game, Omaha goes on the road, so Gordon will join Class AA Northwest Arkansas to continue his rehabilitation.
The Royals hope Gordon will be ready to play in the major leagues after the All-Star break after undergoing hip surgery.
