Colin Craft and Danielle Lemek are heading to Ohio later this month for the Junior PGA Championships and Husker sophomore Kayle Knopik beat her teammate at the Kearney Country Club
Craft of Omaha and Lemek of Doniphan won the overall championships at the Nebraska Junior PGA Championship at Quarry Oaks in Ashland. Craft edged out Mark Stovie by one stroke and Lemek won her side of the tournament by seven strokes. Both Craft and Lemek earned a spot in the Junior PGA Championship July 28-31 at The TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio.
Husker sophomore Kayla Knopik, who had shoulder surgery and a long layoff beat her teammate JC Stevenson 1 and up at the Women’s Match Play Championship at the Kearney Country Club, great comeback story for Kayla. Stevenson who won the stroke play championship earlier this summer picks up her second runner up finish in three years.
