The Omaha Royals hit three home runs, but it wasn’t enough as they dropped an 8-4 decision in New Orleans. The Zephyrs knocked out three of their own and got a big night from their first basemen.
Omaha took a 2-1 lead in the second inning on solo homers from Kila Ka’aihue and John Suomi, but the Zephyrs came right back with four runs in the bottom of the inning off Omaha starter Stephen Randolph who gave up seven runs in his three innings of work. He also allowed three home runs including two from New Orleans first basemen John Lindsey who finished the night 4 for 4 with four RBI.
O-Royals Scott Thorman hit his team-leading 16th homer as well.
