Gunshots fly along Interstate 80 Friday morning in Omaha and a man rushed to a hospital with a wound to his upper chest. Omaha Police Sgt. Harold Scot says the victim was driving on a westbound access road between “L” and “Q” Street around 5:30 a.m.
“The vehicle was hit several times. He was hit once.”
The victim was able to drive up the exit ramp to “Q” Street and was able to dial 9-1-1. Sgt. Scott says the witness told police that the gunshots came from someone in another vehicle.
“We don’t know what the relationship was between them. We are still trying to develop that. There is a possibility they knew one another. We’re following up on what the victim told us as far as who he thought it might be.”
The suspect was last seen speeding east on “Q” Street. The victim, who has only been identified as a man in his 20’s, will be ok.
