Saltdogs win first series of the second half

Jarrett Gardner allowed just two runs on five hits over 7.2 innings as the Lincoln Saltdogs win their first series of the second half, taking two out of three from Sioux City with a 7-2 win.

Gardner struck out six and walked three. Daryl Arreola struck out two over a perfect 1.1 innings to earn his second save.

The Saltdogs were led by Pichi Balet, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI. Shea McFeely each had two hits and an RBI, while Albenis Machado and Shawn McGill each scored two runs.
