Former University of Nebraska I-back Thunder Collins could face more charges stemming from a homicide case. On Tuesday, a motion was filed by prosecutors in Douglas County.
Prosecutors have asked a district judge to allow them to charge the 29 year old with first-degree assault and using a weapon to commit the assault. Collins already faces first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and two related weapons charges. He has pleaded not guilty.
Back in September of 2008, Collins was involved in a dispute over a drug deal that led to a shooting in midtown Omaha. In that shooting, in which four others were charged, one was shot dead and another man critically injured.
