We all know football is king when it comes to Nebraska, but Cornhusker fans also came out to support Doc Sadler’s basketball team. The NCAA released their figures from the 2008-2009 season and the Huskers fared quite well in average attendance.
Nebraska was 39th in the nation with an average of 10,280 fans last season, just under the Big 12 average of 10,395 fans per game. The Big 12 down an average of just 600 fans, but still ranked fourth among conferences. You would think ACC basketball, but it was actually the Big 10 that had the best average attendance.
Creighton ranked 12th in the country averaging just under 16,000 fans per game. The Bluejays drew over 302,000 fans to the Qwest Center and ranked 23rd in total attendance for home, road and neutral site games drawing 425,484 fans.
