The Omaha Royals put together their biggest win of the season in the opening game of their series with Las Vegas. Omaha scored five runs in the first inning and led 10-1 after three on their way to a 14-1 win.
New right fielder Jordan Parraz did it all last night at the plate and in the field. He had three hits including two doubles and two RBI. In the field, he assisted by doubling a runner off second base and then robbed another of a home run going a good foot over the wall to make the catch.
Parraz was once drafted by the Phillies to be a pitcher, but didn’t sign wanting to be an outfielder. He made the right move. The Royals organization picked him up in a trade with Houston last year and Parraz has his eyes on Kansas City as his next step. He has the third highest batting average of all minor leaguers at .351.
