It’s your one chance to get down on the turf at Memorial Stadium for this Saturday’s Husker Fan Day so don’t blow it! Get all of your information and tips for an enjoyable day right here.
The event starts at 9:30am, so get there early. Fans will be allowed to enter through Gate 3 or 24 on the south end of Memorial Stadium, so plan your parking accordingly. The lots around the stadium will be open including the Stadium Drive parking garage.
Fans are going to be limited to just one autograph per player and coach and schedule posters will not be available on Saturday, so bring something from home to get signed that’s not too bulky, but big enough to get plenty of signatures. The team will provide rosters and autograph sheets when you first enter the stadium. Try to skip this crowd and have your own memorabilia.
Coaches will be near midfield, quarterbacks and running backs in the north end zone. So, if you enter on the south end, try to make your way to the other end of the field first before lines get too crazy. You’ll have to decide on QB and RBs or Pelini and coaches. With only 90 minutes you may not have much time to get both.
If you’re bringing small children, make sure you get your potty breaks out of the way before getting to the stadium. Again, with only an hour and a half, you don’t want to waste your time in lines. The athletic department says all restrooms will be open.
Dads, I would almost never suggest a fanny pack, but have a bottle of water and a snack for the kids to keep them occupied in lines and keep your hands free.
The last tip of the day. HAVE FUN! Nebraska football kicks off September 5th.
