Omaha is having difficulty finding a way to score a run against one of the PCL’s worst when hit comes to team ERA. For the second game in a row, the O-Royals were shut out by Reno losing 5-0.
The Reno pitching staff, has an ERA of 5.26, and once again their started was flirting with a no-hitter. Former O-Royal Billy Buckner took a no-no into the fifth inning. He left after seven allowing just two hits. Omaha has now gone 18 innings without a run scored. Buckner only allowed four baserunners and struck out 10.
While the team has struggled, the fans continue to show up at Rosenblatt. Despite a slow economy, attendance is up 8% from last season and this is the 22nd straight season of at least 300,000 fans.
