Nebraska Education Commissioner Roger Breed is offering a lukewarm response to a report that shows Nebraska’s average ACT score for 2009 is above the national average and several other states.
Breed says he’s not surprised that Nebraska’s students performed
well. He added that he tends not to get too fired up about
test-score reports, saying “the exams are simply pictures in
Nebraska’s 22.1 average score continues to rank first among the 15 states with 70 percent or more graduates taking the ACT.
The average composite score for Lincoln Public School students was 23.3..maintining the district’s highest-ever average score, while increasing the number of students tested.
