An overflow crowd that may have approached 1,000 turned out for Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Nelson’s town hall meeting on health care reform at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital Thursday.
Around 450 people were seated or were standing inside the center while others listened via a speaker system outdoors. More than a thousand people showed up the day before for a public meeting at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Folllowing the town hall meeting, Senator Nelson told KLIN’s Coby Mach on Drive Time Lincoln that the number one concern he heard from Lincolnites was whether they would lose their private health insurance coverage under reform.
Senator Nelson says he would not be supportive of anything that takes away from some individuals to give to others…Nor would he support anything that adds to the deficit.
