Wichita’s Josh Horn’s walk off homer in the bottom of the 11th inning gave the Wingnuts a 9-8 win Monday night. Lincoln reliever Adam Daniels battled out of jams in the two previous innings, but lost the game with one swing of the bat.
The two teams battled back and forth the whole game. Lincoln took a 4-1 lead in the 4th inning, but Wichita scored six in the bottom of the inning with two outs. The Saltdogs then scored four in the 8th, but Wichita came right back with a run in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game.
Lincoln still has a 2.5-game lead over Wichita in the North Division, and a 4-game lead over St. Paul. The lead over St. Paul is more important. Wichita is guaranteed a playoff spot for winning the first half. The Saltdogs have six game remaining.
