Former Nebraska running back Thunder Collins was convicted of first degree murder and other charges stemming from a 2008 shooting in Omaha that left one man dead and another seriously wounded.
The Douglas County jury also found the 28 year old guilty of attempted second degree murder, felony assault and two weapons counts. After the verdict was read and Collins was lead away he yelled, “No justice. No justice. I’m the victim. I’m the victim here. They know I killed no one. Of course, they got the wrong guy. I’m not no snitch. I’ve got dignity. I will get another trial.”
Back at his cell, he called a press conference and basically said it was a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He says he knows who the shooter is, but is not going to identify him.
