Voters in the Ogallala Public School District took to the polls Tuesday to vote on a major school bond issue — and rejected it.
The proposal was for 30.6 million to build a new high school, renovate the current high school to house the middle school students and consolidate Ogallala’s three elementary schools into one building.
After months of planning and months of debates, the majority of the voters in the district voted against the bond proposal.
Less than half the registered voters in the district turned out the split was nearly 2 and a half to one with more than 1700 voting against and less than 700 voting for.
