New information on a deadly crash at U-N-L. Last Friday, UNL Police responded to East Campus on a one-vehicle accident into a U-N-L building.
Officers on the scene observed a 2007 Ford Focus had struck Chase Hall. 75 year old Curtis Twedt of Lincoln was pronounced dead on the scene.
The case is still being investigated and at this time the cause of accident has not been determined. Damage estimated through UNL Facilities on Chase Hall is between $100,000 to $200,000, consisting of a retaining wall, steel bar and damage to a room inside the building. No one was inside the room when the accident occurred.
An autopsy was performed on Saturday, results are pending toxicology reports. Based on preliminary observations, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
