Dell to own Perot Systems

September 22, 2009 By Nebraska Radio Network Contributor

A major Lincoln employer, Perot Systems is to have a new owner. Dell announced Monday that it is buying Perot Systems for almost $3.9 million.

Lincoln Chamber of Commerce President Wendy Birdsall tells us that she is optimistic on what that means for Lincoln. Birdsall indicates Perot Systems has done well in Lincoln.

Perot System based out of Texas employs almost 1,000 people in Lincoln as part of the company’s insurance and business solutions division. Perot is also completing a new Lincoln Headquarters at the University of Nebraska Technology Park near Interstate 80. And had announced earlier that it would add 150 new high-paying technology jobs in Lincoln.

(Thanks to KLIN, Lincoln)
