Nebraska volleyball head coach John Cook said his daughter called him and shared of story of someone selling their NU-Texas VB tix on EBay for $400 apiece. There is no doubt Saturday’s match between the #6 Huskers and #2 Longhorns is a big deal, but Cook doesn’t want to overlook tonight’s match with Texas A & M.
The Huskers, have relied on a tough defense through the first two Big 12 matches. NU has held Colorado and Texas Tech to a combined .041 hitting percentage. Offensively, four Huskers have recorded at least 10 kills in league play, including a season-high 16 by Lindsey Licht at Colorado on Saturday. Licht’s performance was a season best and marked the third time the junior has led Nebraska in kills this year after topping the Huskers only once in 2008.
Texas A&M is 8-1 on the year and has swept its last five matches. The Aggies, who just missed the AVCA Top 25, are second in the Big 12 and in the top-10 nationally in hitting percentage (.311). It is eas to see why Cook does not want to overlook this match.
