The Huskers needed this game and I was impressed with the way they bounced back from the Va Tech loss against a decent Louisiana Lafayette team that has played LSU tough and beat K-State. It may not have been a bigger game for anyone else other than Zac Lee who got off to a quick start.
It’s not really of full two weeks until the next game, because the Huskers will play Missouri on Thursday October 8th on national TV. Couple of years ago, you may remember a kid by the name of Blaine Gabbert, a prospect just outside of St. Louis who was ready to come play for Nebraska. The last time the Huskers were at Missouri and lost, Gabbert had a change of heart and commited to Mizzou. He’s now their starting quarterback. He’s led the Tigers to a 4-0 record and just threw for 414 yards and three touchdowns at Nevada. Gabbert has completed 66% of his passes with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions.
In the latest AP Top 25 poll, the Huskers are 23rd, Missouri just out at 26th, but in the coaches poll, Huskers one spot behind Missouri at 24.
