Nebraska-Kearney sophomore running back Rustin Dring ran for a career-high 184 yards and the Loper defense came up with a fourth down stop in an 18-13 win over Chadron State. This marks the 10th time in the last 14 meetings the final score between these two schools has been seven points or less. The Eagles still lead the all-time series 47-21-1.
True freshman Levi Terrell ran for a team season-high 192 yards and a touchdown to lead the UNO football team to a hard-fought 44-36 win over at Missouri Southern. Terrell, playing in his first collegiate game, carried the ball 44 times to tie a school record for rushing attempts set by Saul Ravenell during the 1973 season.
Wayne State College, ranked 22nd in the AFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, held off Southwest Minnesota State 42-39. The two teams combined for an even 1,000 yards in the ball game.
