Creighton men’s soccer sophomore Ethan Finlay has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and honored by TopDrawerSoccer.com on the website’s National Team of the Week for his play in wins over Bradley and Evansville last week. The forward scored in both victories to move his team-leading total to three on the year.
Against Bradley last Wednesday, Finlay scored just before the end of the first half to proved the winning goal in the 1-0 victory. The tally was his sixth career game-winning goal, tying Byron Dacy for the most career winners among active Bluejays.
On Saturday night, Finlay tied the game in the second half after the Jays were trailing Evansville 1-0. Creighton eventually won 2-1. Creighton (4-2-1, 2-1-0 MVC) moved back into first place after the two wins. The Bluejays return to action on Wednesday at Missouri State.
