Republican Senator Mike Johanns is not pleased with the health care legislation moving out of the Senate Finance committee. He says the bill cuts money for home health care, hospice care, and hospitals across the country, including Nebraska. This piece of legislation will be merged with a bill coming out of the health committee. He says the final bill will be written behind closed doors and you have to be a Democrat to even be a part of the discussions.
“At the moment I can’t get in the room to see how the negotiations are coming, they are occurring in private and I have an R behind my name, so I don’t get in that room.”
Johanns thinks the bill will end up costing much more than the projections that have been announced.
