It has been a rough week for Husker quarterback Zac Lee. He went from being the hero in that Missouri game to being the goat, maybe the scapegoat after the Texas Tech loss. Lee, won’t lie, he says the negativity has affected him.
On Saturday after the loss, you weren’t quite sure when head coach Bo Pelini stood with his senior quarterback Zac Lee. However, after stepping back a couple of days, it sounds as though Pelini has Lee’s back, especially with how quickly the fans turned on Lee.
In addition to having the support of Pelini, there is also offensive coordinator Shawn Watson, who also talked with Lee. He wouldn’t elaborate on what he told Lee, but it sounds like Watson has seen this before?it?s just a growing process for Lee in terms of dealing with adversity.
You can have your QBs back and support him, but from an X’s and O’s standpoint, you have to make sure the player gets better. So for Lee and backup Cody Green, it was live contact in practice. There were a couple of reasons Watson wanted to do that. Click to hear more on today’s Big Red Report
