The 8th ranked Nebraska volleyball team faces No. 2 Texas in Austin. The Huskers (16-5, 9-3 Big 12) come into Friday evening’s match winning seven of their last eight, following a 3-0 sweep at Texas Tech on Wednesday night. First serve is set for just after 6pm.
In Wednesday’s win, outside hitters Hannah Werth and Tara Mueller combined for 26 kills and 22 digs. Texas (17-0, 12-0 Big 12) comes into after a sweep of No. 25 Texas A&M in College Station. The Longhorns posted their eighth straight sweep in Big 12 action.
The Huskers last played Texas on September 26th at the Coliseum and lost 3-1. NU was ranked sixth at that time and UT second. Despite 13 kills and a season-best four blocks from Tara Mueller and the fact that NU had more kills and digs than Texas, they committed 34 hitting errors and 15 service errors in the match. The loss also snapped the Huskers 82 straight home victories.
