It appears the Huskers are getting some good news about junior running back Roy Helu. His shoulder seems to be doing better. He practiced this week without the green “non-contact” jersey and running backs coach Tim Beck is impressed with what he sees.
Also on today’s report, defensive coordinator Carl Pelini talks about how he spends a lot of time breaking down the line play of his opponents. When it comes to the play of redshirt freshmen Landry Jones, Pelini points out there is a reason, the Sooners are still an explosive offensive team…the offensive line.
What impresses Pelini about the quarterback Jones is how poised this young kid plays, but his friend Bob Stoops and the OU assistants to a great job of game planning and working with what they have. Landry this season has thrown for just over 1,600 yards, 62% completion rating and 16 TD along with 7 interceptions. Great matchup for the NU defensive line against that OU offensive line.
