Nebraska-Kearney sophomore running back Rustin Dring is the RMAC’s Male Athlete of the Month for October. This is the first year of the monthly award; in September, UNK volleyball player Nikki Scott was the Female Athlete of the Month.
A native of Kearney Neb., Dring was the Lopers top offensive threat in October. He is ranked sixth in the nation in rushing with 1,185 yards. He leads the eighth ranked team in rushing yards with 1,185 and is third on the team in receiving with 143 yards. Last month, the sophomore running back rushed for a then career high 202 yards at New Mexico Highlands.
This week, Saginaw Valley State will have their hands full with Dring, as they come to Kearney this weekend for a first round playoff game against the RMAC regular season champion Lopers. UNK has won 10 straight games, the first time they finished with 10 wins in a season.
