There’s an interesting tie-in to the game at Kansas tomorrow. Tim Beck, the Huskers running backs coach actually had a hand in getting quarterback Todd Reesing to sign with the Jayhawks. As you’ll hear in today’s Big Red Report, Beck liked Reesing’s ability to make plays.
Everyone expected the Jayhawks to be battling the Huskers for the Big 12 North, but the Jayhawks have lost four conference games in a row after escaping Iowa State with a five point win. When you look at Reesing’s overall numbers, they’re not that bad. 17 touchdowns, 8 interceptions. The offense early in the season didn’t have trouble scoring, it was their defense that was a big question mark. However, in those last four losses, Reesing had just four TDs with five picks. This could be another big game for that defensive secondary and with Bo Pelini having so much depth back there, it could create issues for Reesing and the KU passing game.
