The Nebraska High School Football State Championships wrap up today with the Class B and C1 and C2 title games taking place at Memorial Stadium. Yesterday, the Class A and D1 and D2 finals were played. Here is a brief recap of each game.
In Class A, Millard South beat Millard West 45-17. South’s Bronson Marsh ran for 157 yards and threw for 101 more in the victory. South returned the favor after losing last year’s championship game to West 21-8. Earlier this year, Millard South also won 28-0.
In Class D-1, Howells won their eighth 8-man title since 2000 taking care of Giltner 68-28. Clint Belina ran for 332 yards and six touchdowns. In Class D-2, Humphrey St. Francis shut out Hayes Center 34-0 thanks in part to Matt Korus who ran 37 times for 207 yards.
Today, the Class B title game will pit Aurora and Omaha Skutt, two 12-0 teams at 7:15 pm. The C-1 title game will start at 2:45 pm with Hastings St. Cecilia and Norfolk Catholic playing and this morning at 10:15 am, the C-2 game, with Hartingon CC playing Ponca at 10:15 at Memorial Stadium.
