The Husker basketball team started out slow, turning the ball over four times in the first seven minutes, but from that point on turned it over just three times the rest of the game as NU pulled away for a 70-49 win over the UMKC Kangaroos.
Sek Henry spakred the team when he hit back to back three pointers with just under five minutes to play that took NU from a 20-19 to a 26-19 lead. From there, NU finished on a 21-5 run to lead 41-24 at the break. Lance Jeter, who finished with 10 points capped the first half by nailing a three before the buzzer.
As NU built their lead to as many as 28 in the second half, Doc Sadler emptied the bench and played 13 players. Nebraska shot 53% for the game, its second straight game shooting over 50 percent, plus added 16 assists against just seven turnovers.
NU is now 3-1 and will return to action at USC on Sunday.
