The Nebraska men’s basketball team shot 9 of 12 from the three point line and shot 57% for the game including 60% in the first half as the Huskers beat Texas-Pan American 81-59.
Ryan Anderson led the Huskers with 21 points. Ray Gallegos and Eshaunte Jones picked up their first double-figure scoring games, as Gallegos finished with 13 points and Jones added 11. The NU freshmen combined for 46 of the Huskers points.
The Huskers pulled away in the second half. The Broncs turned the ball over 19 times and were just 40% from the field in the second half. UTPA was just 9 of 23 in the second half, including 0 of 7 from the 3-point line, as the Huskers outscored the Broncs 41-21 after leading by only 10 at the half.
Nebraska is now 5-1 on the season with their next game coming up Sunday in Omaha to face Creighton.
