Huskers back on the practice field

December 16, 2009 By Bill Pollock

The AP announced their All-American team, Ndamukong Suh a first team choice at defensive tackle. A record six Alabama players were on the list. The Nebraska football team is kicking it into high gear after a day off Monday, with back to back practices. It is important to not only get the young players extra reps, but time to start getting the starters ready for Arizona.

Pelini never seems happy or satisfied with the status quo, he wants to see more from his players at today’s practice, calling yesterday average in terms of tempo.  Safety Larry Asante admitted yesterday was the first day they just started prepping on defense for the multi faceted Arizona offense.

Yahoo Sports had an interesting article the other day about what each of the bowls give to the players as gifts for participating in the game. Obviously, as you move up the bowl ranks, the better the gifts become, but Nebraska and Arizona getting some pretty good swag from the Holiday Bowl. This year, when the players arrive in San Diego they’ll receive a ball cap and hoodie, but they’ll also get a Tourneau watch, a Best Buy gift card and one of those Flo TV personal televisions with one year of free service.
