Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Nelson stands by his decision to vote to stop debate on health care reform. Nelson told us, critics are misrepresenting changes in abortion language.
“Any kind of abortion coverage that is elective by someone who chooses to have it, that have to pay for that coverage with one of their own personal checks, no government funds will be used for that.”
Nelson says he did NOT sell or trade his vote. Nelson has taken criticism for negotiating exemptions for Medicaid expansions in the future. He says he agrees with the critics the change opens up the door for other states to demand fair treatment and he was not aware how the language would be written.
