Forty-six businesses in Douglas and Sarpy Counties were caught selling alcohol to minors during recent compliance check enforcement. Diane Riibe is the Executive Director with Project Extra Mile and says 330 businesses were checked during a two and a half month compliance.
Officers also issued 19 citations for procuring alcohol for minors and 131 minor in possession citations. Riibe says more compliance checks are planned and every business that sells alcohol should be on alert at some point, they will be checked.
The enforcement started in mid-October and ended at Christmas. Both local and county law enforcement agencies took part in the enforcement.
