Sophomore guard Brandon Richardson matched a career high 15 points and senior Ryan Anderson had 14 as the Huskers wrapped up their non-conference schedule with a 77-59 win over Southeastern Louisiana.
It was a typical Husker game with plenty of good defense as NU forced the Lions into 20 turnovers. NU shot just 46%, but held the Lions to just 48%. The Huskers built on their 11 point halftime lead by hitting 7-of-8 three pointers.
One of those key three pointers came with about 12 minutes to go in the game. The Huskers had built a lead of 15 and Southeastern La. went on a 7-0 run to the cut the lead to 8, Sek Henry hit a three and then just that fast, Ray Gallegos and Brandon Ubel hit shots and Anderson delivered a three pointer and the lead was back to 15 with 8:30 to play in the game.
NU heads into Big 12 play with a 12-3 record, becoming the quickest team to get to 12 wins since the 90-91 season. Big 12 play opens on the road at Texas A & M on Saturday.
