Nebraska U.S. Senator Ben Nelson says he wants to see the health care negotiations between House and Senate leaders carried on C-Span.
“I’d rather see them on C-Span myself, frankly,” Nelson told us Thursday.
The Nebraska Democrat says the process hasn’t been any different than when Republicans were leading Congress, but he won’t justify the way negotiations have been going.
While other Democratic Senators including Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown are predicting that a exemption from future Medicaid expansions for Nebraska will be removed from the bill, Nelson says he’s asking for the same exemption to be given to all states.
Nelson also told us he is still waiting to see what final language on abortion funding is written into the bill before he makes up his mind on how he’ll vote.
