If you haven’t already, you need to sit up and take notice of the 11th ranked Nebraska women’s basketball team. These girls are for real. Last night they reeled off a 91-79 win over 19th ranked Texas.
It’s the 15th straight win for the Huskers. The Huskers turned a six point lead at the half into a 17 point lead by starting the second half on a 13-2 run. All-America candidate Kelsey Griffin scored 26 points with 10 rebounds. It’s her 7th double-double of the season. In Kelsey’s last two home games she has shot 17 of 20 from the floor and 17 of 19 from the line. An amazing stretch for the senior.
The starters are dominating. Four starters finished in double figures. In her best game this season, Omaha native Yvonne Turner scored a season high 21 points thanks to five three pointers. Lincoln native Dominique Kelley matched her season high with 18 points, while adding six rebounds, and senior forward Cory Montgomery matched her season best with 16 points as well.
Things don’t slow down for the Huskers who travel to #9 Baylor on Sunday.
