Huskers lose close game with Iowa State

January 16, 2010 By Bill Pollock

In a game that featured 11 leads changes, Nebraska didn’t have enough as they drop their third straight Big 12 game losing  56-53  to Iowa State Saturday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.  Lance Jeter’s three point attempt to the tie the game at the buzzer was short.

NU led again by one at the break, but couldn’t finish.  After the KU game, Doc Sadler mentioned this team needed the mental toughness to finish games off.  It looks like this will be a work in progress.

Ryan Anderson led NU with 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals, while Jeter added 12 points. The Huskers shot just 36.5 percent from the field, including a 5-of-19 performance from the 3-point line. Nebraska also left points on the board at the charity stripe, as the Huskers hit only 2-of-8 free throws.
