The Nebraska State Patrol says one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident this morning, just west of Filley.
The collision happened at about 7:15 am, along a snow and ice-slickened U-S Highway 136, just east of the highway junction with East Hoyt Road. Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins identifies the fatality victim as 75-year-old Eldon Oltman, of Filley.
Collins says the fatality victim, Oltman, was driving the minivan that spun out of control. The driver of the other vehicle, 44 year old Regina Mitchell of Hebron, was taken to Bryan LGH West Medical Center in Lincoln with serious injuries.
The accident scene is about three-quarters of a mile west of Filley. Gage County Sheriff’s officers, Filley Fire and Rescue and Beatrice Fire and Rescue were at the scene of the accident, this morning.
