The Chadron State and Nebraska-Kearney men and women were in action on Thursday night. The Eagles of CSC were hosting Regis University. The Lopers were hosting Metro State.
In Chadron, Moala Tautuaa scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help lead the Chadron State men to a 71-57 win over Regis University. The Eagles (8-11, 6-6 RMAC) have won three straight conference games for the first time since the 2004-05 season and have matched their win total from a year ago.
In the women’s game, Kaitlin Petri, the RMAC’s Player of the Month for January, got the Eagles off to a blistering start by scoring 20 points in the first half as CSC won 91-54.
In Kearney, 23rd ranked Metro State got off to a quick start and the Lopers couldn’t climb back into the game losing 73-63. Metro started the game on a 22-7 run.
In the women’s game, it came down to free throws and the Lady Lopers hit eight of them down the stretch for their third in a row for a 68-64 win.
