When the Lincoln Stars first started playing hockey in the USHL back in 1996, fans started a tradition by spraying silly string when the Stars scored a goal. Things got out of hand and they had to ban silly string, but tonight the Stars are going old school. It’s a throwback night for Stars hockey.
Fans are encouraged to bring silly string and prices at the concession stand will be lowered as well. The Stars take on Sioux Falls at 7pm. The Stars are 11-24-6 and in last place in the USHL…they could miss the playoffs but just the second time in team history.
The Lincoln City Council voted 6-0 in favor letting voters decide on May whether or not to approve a portion of the $344 million needed to build a new arena west of the Haymarket district in Lincoln. This would become the new home of Nebraska basketball.
The Nebraska athletic department said they’ve hit 50,000 tickets sold for the Red White Spring game on April 17th. Tickets are $10 apiece and some decent seats still remain. For more than $2,500, you can experience the tunnel walk, a part of a fan’s VIP treatment the team is offering up in an auction that ends this afternoon at 2:45. You can go to Huskers.com.
